Adventure

The Kemps

Eric and I have had the honour to watch their story unfold. From how Bailey was embarrassed on their first date by Malcom’s impressions to sledding on top of untouchable peaks to witnessing them utter words of legacy at the altar- hand shaking, tears welling in unison. They confessed they were a bit sad when their wedding was over. It was like being a kid when Christmas was finished. Before they hung up the dress, they wanted one more hour of adventure in a place where they felt most themselves. We decided to drive up a very bumpy FSR road filled with deep runoffs in hopes of reaching the mountain hidden in the clouds. Eric hopped out to direct Malcom when we got stuck- me and Bailey eyed the cliff below. After 2000 meters of elevation, we reached the base of the peak. The sun streamed off of the forested hills as clouds phantomed the peak. Even as the wind pulled, the clouds looked as if they didn’t want to let go of the giant rock face. We helped Bailey & Malcom dress, making sure the last button was done up and began our journey to the bowl. Walking through lush flower meadows and alpine trees, I documented the beginning of a long, worthy adventure together. I hope they continue to stand on mountains as one, even if it's hard to get there.
