Otto & Morgan

We planned on taking their boat 45 mins to a gorgeous waterfall on a lake nestled in high-forested mountains. Once we arrived we ran to the waterfall ASAP with the night closing in quicker than usual because of the cloud coverage. We spent all but around 30 mins shooting before I put my ISO up so high that I could only produce grainy images near the falls. As I am using flash for the rest of the shoot, loving every minute of capturing those two in the water, getting their feet sandy on the nearby beach, we realized it was completely dark. Only a faded light silhouetted the mountains at this point. Me and Morgan are drying off the puppies and chatting away in the back of the boat while Otto and co-captain/ brother in law are slowly creeping, trying to not catch buoys and other fallen logs in the now black water. This was by far one of my favourite shoots to document because of the story they will have to tell future generations. They conquered tasks, found solutions in the rain without breaking a smile or being able to dance it off. I am so lucky to have known these two and I know their marriage will be the same. Whatever they face, they will get through it together.
