Aslan met Emil at an airport on a spontaneous trip to Denmark. Emil was just arriving home for a couple weeks from being in the states for hockey. After Aslan said something witty they began talking for a couple days and Emil started showing her his hometown. The cobblestone streets and ancient buildings decorated with floral vines made her feel like she was living in an art piece. A couple years later and after they traveled constantly around Denmark, USA, Canada, Greece, Italy they wanted to go to a place to elope that was close to their hearts. Emil had a family cottage on the coast of Copenhagen and they wanted to do something small and intimate, celebrating with friends and family at a small gathering afterwards. They invited me to hop on a plane and I followed them right to the cottage on the coast. Music blasting and the rolling hills framing the windy road, we arrived at the quaint cottage that has been in Emil’s family for years.
